If you've ever been disappointed after seeing the "movie version" of a book you've read, then you'll love the Isle of Cinnabar. The writer paints a vivid picture of life in the Caribbean no "special effects" could emulate. Adventure lovers, treasure hunters and history buffs will appreciate the fast-paced, historically accurate account of life on the high seas in the eighteenth century. This book was recommended by a friend when I was dreaming of an island vacation and while I enjoyed getting lost in the Caribbean with Joe, I'm afraid I want an island vacation now more than ever. Eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series!
I bought The Isle of Cinnabar for my son because it was a pirate book never expecting to enjoy it myself. My son read the book and told me I would like it so I picked up the and began reading a few pages and did not want to put it down. This is one of the best written books I have read. It keeps you totally entertained looking for the next twist so much that it is hard to find a stopping point. Whether you are 10 or 50 I think you will enjoy the quality of the writing of this book. I am looking forward to the next in this series, for my son of course. Take the time to read this and I believe you will have the same review.
